My goal for the coming year is to carve the 21 Taras. Tara is the Goddess of Loving Kindness and Compassion. I will work to improve my carving skills but also want to do more painting again.
My first painting in the New year is VajraSattva, the BodhiSattva of purification. I like to start with him to begin the new year fresh.
The pandemic changed everything. Everything felt so unsettled that I could not focus on a big project. I spent months painting woodblocks and building inventory. I was finally I was able to paint and carve again by the fall. We have our ideas of how things will happen but life takes over. I am very happy with the work I made this year even though it was not what I intended.
