New Work 2019
Add a bit of Hawaiiana to your home with a playful hand-carved woodblock of Mynah birds and ulu (breadfruit). I mostly carve Buddhas but I also love carving animals and include them in most of my art.
Mokuhanga is the traditional Japanese style of woodblock prints. The block is printed onto Japanese Kozo or mulberry paper by hand rubbing with a barren. The inks used are sumi and watercolor inks. Mokuhanga is a labor-intensive old school printmaking practice. Typically a separate block is carved for each color. This artworks has two carved overlapping woodblocks with watercolor inks.
