This is part of a Contemporary Goddess series that I started 6 years ago. I turn women into the Goddess in keeping with the Yoga philosophy that all women are the goddess. My friend Aloki was my model. She sits with her ukulele and attended by her swan.
The iconography is based on the Tibetan and Hindu Goddess of music and the arts, Saraswathi. She is invoked for learning and creativity. She is sometimes called the Goddess of Speech and can help with skillful communications.
