VajraSattva Mantra
VajraSattva Mantra
Mokuhanga woodblocks on Japanese paper
16x12 inches
2024

VajraSattva mantra is my most difficult woodblock to date. Tibetan letters carved backwards (to print correctly) are difficult in shina wood. Also known as the 100 syllable mantra, VajraSattva is for purification and removes negativity. VajraSattva mantra can foster an attitude of forgiveness rather than fighting or holding grudges. I did the Tibetan practice of chanting 100,000 males (108 repetitions) and so have a special feeling for this mantra. The conch shell represents Truth.
