A contemporary White Tara using acrylics on canvas and spray paint stencils. White Tara, also known as Arya Tara, is an important figure in Buddhism. She is known as the “Mother of Liberation,” or the enlightened wisdom of the Buddhas. She is invoked for long-life and for cultivating kindness.
Tara is the protective, helpful, and comforting mother who shows limitless kindness, generosity, and protection towards those who are suffering in the ocean of samsara. Her practice is a means for attaining liberation.
