My Family
A woodblock of my daughter, Devi, as a dancing Tara from my Everyday Goddess series.
Dancing Devi is a nature goddess. She is accompanied by her wolf. She is a guardian and protector of nature and the animals. The setting is Eldorado Canyon with local flora. This is part of my contemporary goddess series.
Mokuhanga is the traditional Japanese style of woodblock prints. The block is printed onto Japanese Kozo or mulberry paper by hand rubbing with a barren. The inks used are sumie and watercolor inks. Moku hanga is a labor-intensive old school printmaking practice.I hand painted this woodblock.
