Hanuman in anjali mudra
Mokuhanga woodblocks hand rubbed onto mulberry paper

Hanuman symbolizes true friendship and loyalty.
His hands come together at his heart in the anjali mudra, an expression of love and devotion.
Hanuman is the much beloved monkey king of the Ramayana Epic.
This is a small woodblock only 6x8 inches and very difficult to carve.
He is double matted to 11x14 in a plastic sleeve.

Moku hanga is the traditional Japanese style of woodblock prints. Typically a separate block is hand carved for each color used. The blocks are printed onto Japanese Kozo or mulberry paper by hand rubbing with a barren. The inks used are sumie and watercolor inks. Moku hanga is a labor-intensive old school printmaking practice.
